Aiming at exploring the future application of lithium battery technology, SICCAS-SONY Lithium Battery Joint Laboratory was officially inaugurated in Shanghai on July 14. Dr. SHI Erwei, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Akira Kubota,SONY Group China Representative, Mr. QIU Huasheng, Deputy Director-General of Bureau of International Cooperation CAS and Dr. LUO Hongjie, Director of SICCAS attended the ceremony.

Over the past six years, SICCAS and SONY Group has established collaboration in such fields as IT, networking, communications, materials, biotechnology, electronic, and devoted themselves in applying fundamental research into innovation and creation.

“Foreseeing the international energy market and the domestic economic demands expansion, SICCAS will continue our joint efforts with SONY Group in R&D and technology accumulation to make new breakthroughs in the field of novel energy and novel materials.  Hopefully, these efforts will make real contribution to the global environment and sustainable development." said Luo Hongjie, Director of SICCAS.
