Dr. Anning Lin- an international renowned expert in the field of signal transduction – was named as the new Director of the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (IBCB), Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on August 10th, 2009.

Dr. Lin is a Professor of Ben May Department for Cancer Research, the University of Chicago. He also serves as a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals including Molecular & Cellulare Biology (MCB) and is one of the editors of Cell Research. Dr. Lin's research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of the intracellular signaling network in inflammation, apoptosis, and neoplastic transformation.

'I am looking forward to working with my colleagues at IBCB to make it even stronger.' said Dr. Lin in his acceptance speech. He also thanked Dr. Lin Li, the former Director who currently is the vice-president of Shanghai Institutes of Biological Sciences, for his great achievement and success as the Director of IBCB over past 8 years.(IBCB)
